Upgrading from 10.x
Please make sure to check the release notes before upgrading. They may contain important information on changes that could require action on your behalf after or before the upgrade.
note
- If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 10.21.11.x, you should first upgrade to 10.21.11.x and confirm that it's working before proceeding to upgrade to version 10.23.x. or higher.
- If your server was running https before the upgrade, it must be enabled again by running the configuration script.
Please refer to Enabling SSL Encryption - If Azure AD was used before the upgrade, additional configuration is required to re-enable it.

- Verify that your server meets the technical specifications and have the necessary prerequisites installed for the new version.
- Make sure you have healthy backup of the application folders + the database.
- Stop the "Smartsign Server 10" service
- Make sure to close the Windows service manager afterwards
- Install the new MSI installation package and make sure to use the same path as before
- After the installation, the Smartsign Server Installer will launch to help you configure the server and its sub-components. Follow the instructions in the Server Installer section of the New Installation chapter.
- Once you have completed the server installer, the server service will be started. The Publisher interface may be inaccessible for a while during the database upgrade so please be patient until it completes.
